Arrange the clips
Set the play order by dragging clips or tapping the arrow buttons. The file at the top starts the video.

Keep MP4, or pick MOV for Apple apps. Click Merge & convert, watch the preview and save the result.

Supported formats
Add MP4, MOV, AVI, VOB, MKV, WebM, MPG, M4V, 3GP, TS or MTS files, or a mix, and get back one MP4, MOV, AVI or VOB, or an MP3 of the sound. MP4 plays almost everywhere.
M4V is close to MP4
M4V is Apple's variant of MP4. Files exported from an iPhone, a Mac or HandBrake usually hold H.264 video and AAC audio. When every clip shares the same settings and you save as MP4 or MOV, Adapterry joins them without re-encoding, so it's quick and the picture is untouched.
Some M4V files bought from the iTunes Store are copy-protected with DRM. Those cannot be read or converted. Clips that use other codecs, or don't match each other, are fully converted to one shared format before they are joined.
Questions and answers
Can I merge M4V movies bought on iTunes?
Not if they are copy-protected. DRM protected iTunes purchases cannot be converted or merged. Your own unprotected M4V exports work.
Will my M4V merge keep full quality?
It can. Unprotected M4V files with matching H.264 and AAC settings are joined into MP4 or MOV without re-encoding, so nothing is recompressed.
Can I merge HandBrake M4V files?
Yes. HandBrake M4V files usually hold H.264 and AAC, so parts encoded with the same settings join quickly into MP4 or MOV.
Should I save merged M4V clips as MP4 or MOV?
Pick MP4 for phones, TVs and upload sites. Pick MOV for QuickTime Player, iMovie, Final Cut Pro or Photos. Both use H.264 video and AAC audio.
Can I add MOV clips to an M4V merge?
Yes. You can mix M4V with MOV, MP4 or any other supported format. If they don't match, they are converted to one shared format first.
