Why WEBM needs converting

WEBM is a web video format with VP9 or VP8 video and Opus audio. Browser screen recorders and video call apps often save in it. Browsers play it fine, but many phones, video editors and upload forms want MP4.

Because MP4 uses different codecs, WEBM is always fully converted to H.264 video and AAC sound at 128 kbps. The picture keeps its size up to 1920x1080, or 1080x1920 for portrait video, at up to 60 fps.
